I’ve been especially busy over the past few months, which explains the relative radio silence. I recently started up a full time job directing digital marketing efforts at an e-commerce startup called Savor, but I’ve kept my freelance work going – and business has been booming recently! I guess it’s true what they say: When it rains, it pours.
Here’s a little sampling of what I’ve been up to recently.
Thrillist: Thrillist is a digital lifestyle magazine geared towards urban men. I’ve been doing some writing for them: you can read my roundup of the best mac and cheese dishes in Chicago; a lineup of some limited-edition burgers for the month of August and a list of dog-friendly bars in Chicago. This gig led to…
WGN: My first radio appearance! The WGN team contacted me to go on air a few weeks ago. Obviously I accepted. James VanOsdol and I had a fun chat about some great food in Chicago and I shared some fall fashion tips as well. You can listen to the segment here.
Michigan Avenue: I did two freelance pieces for Michigan Avenue’s September fashion issue: A profile on restauranteur/sommelier Alpana Singh (you may recognize her as the former host of Check, Please and owner of The Boarding House.) I also did a rundown of some of the most stylish restaurants in the city. You can read both pieces on page 110 of the mag’s September issue.
MichiganAveMag.com: I was also featured on Michiganavemag.com – the site did an article about some blogger-approved fashion items for this fall. I recommended this Rebecca Taylor dress. If anyone wants to buy this for me, I’ll take black and white in a size 0, please!
The Chicago Chic: Nancy Rahman reached out to me a few months ago about doing a feature of me for her incredible site, The Chicago Chic. We ended up running into each other that same night and really hit it off as friends. Here’s a link to the feature she did. I’m sort of obsessed with her photography skills.
Fox Chapel Living: Fox Chapel Living, a community magazine in Pittsburgh, decided to feature my family on its August cover.
Arkleus: I did a few freelance stories for this new web concept. It’s totally worth checking out – a multimedia platform that celebrates ‘the best of mankind.’ I really enjoyed getting back to long form storytelling and profile writing, which I’ve always viewed as my specialty. You can read my work here.
Stay tuned! I have so many more extremely exciting projects and collaborations in the works. I can’t wait to share what comes next!
