I’m engaged! I’ll be spending the next year planning my wedding and since I know both the planning process and the day itself will go by in a flash, I’ve decided to blog about our upcoming wedding. I want to remember every detail and I know that it will only happen if I write down every little detail.
First up: The proposal. My fiancé, David, and I got engaged on our three-year anniversary at Chicago’s Public Hotel. It’s the most beautiful venue and has always been one of my favorite places in the city.
Here’s something you should know about me: I don’t like surprises. In my opinion, the line between ‘surprised’ and ‘blindsided’ is very, very fine and often blurred. With that being said, I made sure David knew that I didn’t want to be proposed to out of nowhere. He took care of the specifics (the ring, the proposal venue, the exact date) but for the most part, I knew it was coming. He still managed to throw in sweet little unexpected touches, though.
Our full proposal story can be found here, on HowHeAsked.com.
Thanks to our friend Lee Singletary for taking the photo above! Feel free to ask me questions about the ring, the process of getting engaged or anything else you can think of in the comments.
