What I Wore: White Before Labor Day

I don’t often post outfit pictures because I just don’t see this as a personal style blog, nor do I see myself as a personal style blogger. Honestly, I don’t have the time or energy to change out of my work attire (read: Juicy sweat pants and my dad’s discarded tee shirts) most days. But it’s the last Wednesday before Labor Day (aka the perfect time to wear white) and you really can’t ignore the alliteration of ‘What I Wore Wednesday’….so why not?

I love this blazer. It’s sort of go-to for me, a piece I throw on when I need to look put together but don’t have many options. It’s been said that you ‘can’t’ wear white after Labor Day but I say that this is a perfect transitional piece, especially when you style it with a lot of black. The shirt is another go-to of my mine – a simple boxy top with a cool abstract pattern. I rounded it all out with coated jeans – great in theory; they look dressy and glamorous in the winter, but not super flattering since the sheen reflects light, which makes your lower half look larger. I fell in love with these shoes at Topshop about a year ago – they’re also super transitional and really on trend right now. The downside? THEY ARE SO UNCOMFORTABLE. They also scuffed after one wear….but they photograph well so I guess it’s all good.

Outfit details: BCBG Blazer (in black here), Halston Heritage top (similar), Rag & Bone coated jeans (similar), Topshop shoes, BCBG clutch (similar), Kate Spade sunglasses.
